Skating Programs

Our skaters will build mental fortitude and emotional intelligence as they are caringly introduced to new challenges. Staff will not only encourage the creation of new friendships and social skills but participants will naturally begin to develop their own as they work with their peers to master new skills. We’ll have you gliding confidently in no time! *Please note, a CSA approved skating helmet is required for all skating programs.

Skating Policies

  • All children and adults on the ice are required to wear their own personal CSA-approved hockey helmet.
  • Please note, Vivo Centre does not offer helmets for rent or purchase. All skating participants will need to bring their own CSA-approved hockey helmets.
  • During Parent and Tot lessons, all adults participating in the lesson with their child are required to be confident skaters.
  • The following items are not permitted on the ice:
    • street shoes
    • bike, ski or snowboard helmets
    • hot beverages
  • All change rooms are cleaned, disinfected and sanitized regularly.
  • All spectators are asked to remain in the designated viewing areas and away from the players’ bench during the lesson.
  • Parents are required to sign their children in and out for every lesson, unless the child is 9 or older and has been authorized to sign themselves out.
  • When wearing your skates, please walk on the rubber surfaces and avoid the cement and metal. This reduces wear and tear, both to our facility and your skates. It’ll help prevent dull blades, leading to a better skating experience for you!
