WHAT’S OUR REOPENING STAGES?
In-person facility experiences will roll out in stages starting July 6 with our Summer Experiences. Then on Monday, July 27, 2020, we introduce our new fitness ‘boutique’ zones and experiences for group fitness, cardio, weight lifting, strength training and small group training. Vivo is taking direction from the Alberta health authorities to help prepare for your return to Vivo.
- Fitness zones open for pre-booking on July 27, 2020
- Little Kids Summer Adventures begins on Monday & Wednesday mornings starting mid-July
- Sport Groups Bookings are back! The West Arena will be available for figure skating, hockey and ringette.
- The Vivo Play Project continues to provide play resources and tools to our community online, and through in-person Play Ambassador experiences at our Play Hub starting in September.
Stage Two (August 10-18):
- Fall and Winter Program Registration coming Mid-August
- Give the gift of play, donate your ‘credits’ to our Everybody Plays Campaign
- Vivo’s Play Project Ambassadors and Play Hub are coming back in-person in the Fall. Check our Fall Schedule at vivoplayproject.com or @vivoplayproject.
Stage Three (September 1-18):
YAY! The rest of the facility is reopened! We will re-activate all memberships, open our pool and the arenas. You can also pre-book your spots for swimming, deep water fitness classes and public skate and shinny. Stay tuned for all details.
Effective August 1, 2020, the City of Calgary has a new bylaw requiring ‘All persons must wear a face-covering in indoor public premises and public vehicles.’ Vivo falls under the ‘indoor public’ premises definition, and we are required to have people wear a face covering for the duration of their visit UNLESS they are participating in fitness activities or meet the exceptions outlined in the bylaw.
We also understand that not everyone is going to be super excited about being mandated to wear a mask, so it’s critical to approach our customers with empathy. For example, some members may not know about the new bylaw, and others may not be able to wear a mask due to age, underlying medical conditions or disabilities.
