Join Closer to Home for FREE Online and In-Person Programs

Girls Talk
Girls, Let’s talk! Join Closer to Home online every Wednesday as we talk about self-esteem, problem solving, coping strategies, healthy relationships, and more! There will be games, arts & crafts, yoga, meditation, nutrition and guest speakers! This program is for girls ages 12-17 years old
Every Wednesday from October 7- November 25th from 4:00pm-5:00pm
2. Fun Money, Smart Money
This is an online Money Management course that is 4 sessions long for youth ages 14-18. Our Financial Literacy Facilitator will teach the youth tips, tricks, and budgeting skills to prepare them for their financial future as adults!
This program will run on Tuesday’s from 4:30pm-6:30pm starting October 13. All supplies will be provided.

Youth Leadership Club
We have three fun themes throughout the year that are programmed to develop independence, leadership, and self-confidence in Youth! Themes include PLAY!, self-development, future development, community connections, and PLAY! Participants enrolled in the youth leadership club that complete 10 hours of volunteer experience at Vivo will receive a day pass. YLC members get FREE entry to Youth Nights.
Youth Leadership Club Runs from November – June (6-week sessions) on Fridays from 4 pm-6 pm.
November 6 – December 18
This session of YLC will focus on the development of one’s self. We will explore our innermost passions while also learning about social and emotional health, mindfulness, physical health, and all things self! We will host training sessions such as belay training or first aid training to increase your resume and knowledge! Learn more about your likes and dislikes, why you react the way you do, and how to understand yourself better. Closer to Home will provide a workshop of your child’s choosing. Options include Being a Teen in a Pandemic, Healthy Relationships, Dealing with Stress, or Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills.
January 8- February 26
How do you build a resume? How do you apply for jobs? How do I know what I want to do for school or work? All of these questions will be explored in this future development session… and more!
During this session Launch Learnings, will host workshops to develop your coding literacy! This is perfect for you if you have ever wanted to learn how to build an app, a webpage, or even a robot!
March 5 – April 23
Community connection is as essential as a self-connection. This session will have BIG IDEA YYC present workshops to better your community, all while developing entrepreneurial experience.
