About Sensory Time at Vivo
At Vivo, we’re committed to creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels safe, supported, and welcome. That’s why we offer Sensory Time every Monday to Thursday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, across several of our public areas.
Admission & Access
Sensory Time is designed to be accessible and inclusive. This means it is included in all Vivo memberships, and available to non-members through regular drop-in admission.
What to Expect During Sensory Time
During Sensory Time, select areas are adjusted to be calmer and more welcoming for those with sensory sensitivities. Each space runs at 50% of normal capacity to reduce noise and crowds. Music is turned down or off completely, and our lighting is dimmed or softened where possible.
Enjoy a calm, quieter space in these areas:
- Arenas
- Aquatics Centre (Lane Pool access may be limited)
- Fitness Centre
- Indoor Park & Eclipse Studio

Sensory Room
If you or your child feels overwhelmed, you can take a quiet break in our Sensory Room, open during Sensory Time hours. To use Vivo’s Sensory Room, simply visit Guest Services for directions.
Features include:
- Minimal or no lighting
- Yoga mats and soft seating
- Noise-canceling headphones
- A calm, quiet space to decompress
Sensory Backpacks
Did you know Vivo offers Sensory Backpacks at Guest Services? These backpacks are available to borrow with a refundable $10 deposit and are filled with helpful tools to support self-regulation and help guests feel calm in new or busy spaces.

Sensory Skating
Experience dedicated sensory-friendly skating at Vivo! Our accessible entries and open ice accommodate all abilities, allowing wheels and walkers on the ice. Plus, one support person can skate for free, with clean indoor shoes permitted.
