Vivo’s Climbing Clubs are registered programs that offer guided climbing lessons to all ages and skill levels – everyone is welcome! This is a fun and challenging way to stay active, forge new friendships, build confidence, and improve strength and coordination.

Climbing Clubs by Age

Jr. Climbing Club

Ages 5 to 8

All climbers ages 5 to 8 years old are invited to join the club – the Climbing Club! Our primary focus is on safety, proper climbing techniques, and physical literacy. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, you’ll learn essential techniques like “quiet feet,” the difference between straight arm and bent arm climbing, dynamic balance, and the distinction between static and dynamic movements. Plus, you’ll master belay commands to ensure smooth, safe climbs every time. Build strength, confidence, and technique in a supportive and fun environment—perfect for climbers of all levels!

Youth Climbing Club

Ages 9 to 12

Unlock your climbing potential with our comprehensive climbing program for climbers ages 9 to 12! Learn essential skills including equipment management, belay basics, and the difference between static and dynamic balancing. Ages 13 to 15

Adaptive Climbing Club

All Ages

Our Adaptive Climbing Program is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of individuals of all ages and abilities, offering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for everyone to experience the thrill of climbing. We understand that each participant has different challenges and goals, which is why our instructors use specific equipment, materials and techniques tailored to your individual needs. Whether you’re new to climbing or looking to challenge yourself further, our program is focused on helping you build physical strength, mental resilience, and personal confidence. Join us for a personalized, empowering adventure that supports your growth and helps you achieve your climbing goals!

Drop-In Climbing & Bouldering

Try drop-in climbing and bouldering at Vivo! From beginners to experienced climbers, everyone is welcome to stay active and have fun on the wall.

Please Note:

  • Admission is included in all Vivo memberships.
  • Non-members can purchase a day pass to gain access to Vivo Centre.

Climbing & Bouldering Wall Reservations

Planning a birthday party, group activity or team event? Our climbing and bouldering wall reservations offer a thrilling challenge for all skill levels.

Vivo Policies

Please read Vivo’s Policies and Climbing & Bouldering Wall Standards of Conduct prior to registering for programs and using the facility.

All Climbers:

  • Sign in at the front desk before entering the climbing area.
  • Complete Vivo’s climbing orientation prior to climbing.

Standards of Conduct

  • Climbers who are two years old or older are welcome.
  • Children younger than 9 must be supervised by a guardian who is at least 16 years old.
  • Belayers must be at least 14 years old.
  • Belayers under 17 must use a mechanically assisted belay device/grigri.
  • Minimum climber weight is 22 lbs. Maximum weight is 330 lbs.
  • Tops, bottoms, and clean indoor shoes required.
  • Please stay clear off the mats if you are not actively climbing.
  • Only Vivo staff may teach belaying.
  • To book the Climbing and Bouldering Wall for your event, email rentals@vivo.ca.
  • Do not grab or climb on the top of the wall.
  • Do not touch or climb above the auto-belay housing.
  • Do not wear jewelry while climbing.
  • Do not stick fingers in the holes in the wall or holds.
  • Avoid standing or walking under other climbers.
  • Selfies are welcome, but photos or recordings of other guests without their consent are not.
  • No rough play or offensive language/behaviour. Vivo has zero tolerance for violence, abuse or harassment.
