Good news! The Fitness Centre you know and love will be back to normal on Friday, May 18th at 5:30am, ahead of schedule! In order to move everything back, the temporary Fitness Centre in the East Arena will be closing early Thursday night at 6pm. Cycle class will also be cancelled that night, but it will all be worth it to see the new space!

Moment for Change!

The Fitness Centre will be getting a little refresh in the month of May, thanks to grant funding from the Government of Alberta, Calgary Flames, Saddledome Foundation and Parks Foundation Calgary Amateur Sports Grant.

What does this mean for you?
On Sunday, May 6th we will close the Fitness Centre at 6pm and move all of the machines by the light of the moon. From May 7th – 17th all equipment and machines will be in the arena and fully accessible!

  • Be sure to park on the EAST SIDE of the facility - all access to the Fitness Centre will be through the East Entrance (Arena Entrance). Our wonderful Guest Services and Fitness Team will relocate down there to scan passes and process admissions.
  • Access to drop-in fitness classes held in the Active Lab will be through the doors upstairs. Parking at the East Entrance will make this easier, but you will be able to access the Active Lab from the upper level from the east or west side.
  • Considering leaving your valuables at home! Locker space is LIMITED in the Arena - a few lockers and cubbies only. Arena dressing rooms will double as change rooms during the refresh.
  • Reducing screen time! The TVs on individual machines will not function during the refresh - capitalize on this opportunity to enjoy a more mindful workout.
  • No sign-up signs, no problem. You will no longer be required to sign-up for equipment before use. This will begin during the refresh but will carry on once everything has been moved back to the Fitness Centre. You will also no longer be able to sign-up in-person for DROP-IN classes - all sign-ups will happen online.

Make sure you watch for details on opening week events, draws, and classes.

You’ll see:

  • New flooring throughout the lower level – making the free-weight area bigger!
  • A new studio space! This will create a dedicated Cycle Class space as well as open up space for other classes and activities – PLUS you’ll have the chance to tell us what you’d like to see in this space. Watch for areas around the facility and posts online (@VivoYourLife) to share your thoughts!
  • New equipment upstairs and down and a new Team Training Zone upstairs. Click on the names to see photos.
    1. Perimeter Rig
    2. SYNRGY T
    3. SYNRGY 90 Versa Cable
    4. Concept 2 Rower (additional to current ones)
