At Vivo water conservation is a key consideration every day. Our facility was designed with it in mind as recreation buildings have reputations for being high users of water.
Here are some of Vivo’s design measures that conserve water:
- 95% reduction in pool water use thanks to our regenerative filtration system.
- 37% reduction from LEED v4 baseline in indoor water use due to low-flow fixtures.
- 84% reduction from LEED v4 baseline for outdoor water use thanks to drought-tolerant plants and an efficient irrigation system.
- Smart, low-water irrigation system conserves drinking water.
The City of Calgary has announced critical water main repairs beginning March 9th. In support of this important maintenance, Vivo will be reducing our water usage in the following manner from March 9th for approximately 4 weeks or until the City lifts the restrictions:
The following will be impacted:
- Showers shortened to less than 3 minutes – Aquatics, Swimming Pool, Fitness, Arenas
What will remain open:
- Aquatics Area
- Arenas
- Climbing Wall
- Indoor Park
- Fitness Centre
- All Lessons/Camps/Bookings will move ahead as planned
