The duration of your program might be shortened or canceled, but you will receive a credit for any missed sessions. We understand this is disappointing and appreciate your patience. Please check your inbox for more details from our programs team. Please note, swim lessons are cancelled for Thursday, July 10, 2024.
Summer Camp
Until the pools are ready, these activities will continue outside the pool. We know how much the pool time means to the kids and are doing everything we can to make the pools available as soon as possible.

Steps to Make Vivo Splash Ready!
Step 1: Basin Clean & Pool Fill
- Cleaning and preparing the pool basins started on July 2, 2024. This concluded on July 4, 2024.
- Pool fill will start on July 4, 2024, and will take 3-5 days depending on the pool basin.
- Heating of all the water in each basin as it arrives in the pools at 12 degrees and needs to heat to 26.5-40 degrees depending on the pool.
Step 2: Chlorination and Pool Balancing
- Starting up all the chlorination systems.
- Balancing all the pools to ensure the pH and chlorine levels are aligned with AHS standards.
Step 3: AHS Water Sample, Review & Approvals
- Sending water samples of each pool basin to Alberta Health Services. It will take 24-28 hours to have the results back.
- AHS will review our facility and documentation for approval.
- If water samples come back aligned, AHS will provide Vivo with approval to open.

- “Green” stormwater system treats rainwater on site.
- 84% reduction from LEED v4 baseline for outdoor water use thanks to drought-tolerant plants and an efficient irrigation system.
- Smart, low-water irrigation system conserves drinking water.
We’re Almost Slash Ready!
Vivo’s Aquatics Centre was also closed in June for essential warranty and annual maintenance work. Our construction partner Ellis Don needed to complete crucial warranty and deficiency work from our recent expansion project. To maximize efficiency, Vivo performed our annual maintenance at the same time.
Here are the key project milestones:
- Mechanical Upgrades: Improved pool toys and mechanical systems for enhanced fun and efficiency.
- Pump and Boiler Maintenance: Comprehensive inspections to ensure smooth operations.
- Plumbing Improvements: Essential repairs and upgrades to meet health standards.
- Tiling Work: Extensive tiling on the pool deck and change rooms, including crack repairs and grouting.
- Deep Cleaning: Thorough cleaning of the sauna and steam rooms.
- Building Standard Upgrades: Aligning with current standards for improved safety.
- Drainage Enhancements: Improved drainage and deck sloping.
- Stay Active & Connected
