IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Here is a list of FAQs about Vivo’s services and important things to know during this time.

Masks are now mandatory in-person Vivo at all times to:

  • help prevent the transmission of COVID-19 cases and continue to be prevalent with the arrival of other disease variants
  • protect and ensure the safety of all of our employees, members, guests and partners
  • be a partner in supporting the community’s long-term health and well-being
  • be open, accessible and sustainable as a community asset in north-central Calgary

Note– Vivo employees have the right to invoke our Zero Tolerance Policy and ask you to leave the centre immediately or suspend your access to facility areas, programs and services for demonstrating poor behaviors or not following policies and protocols that have been put into place.

We offer a variety of experiences and benefits to play your way, learn and try new things, unwind, reach new goals or connect with friends! 


Your long-term health is our top priority. Your credit on account is secured for future use towards your membership, program or booking when we re-open OR you can choose to donate your credits one-time or become a monthly donor. Donations receive a charitable tax receipt and sign up here.


All LIVE online fitness classes must be pre-booked on the ‘Mywellness App’ 72 hours in advance

The Province of Alberta news conference tonight announced that restrictions are moving back to ‘Step 1’ of their plan effective at midnight on April 6, 2021.  


For Vivo, this means the following services are only OPEN, IN-PERSON at the facility until further notice:  


  • One-on-one personal training with a trainer, certified coach or instructor. Email for information or to book a session.  
  • Youth sport team group rentals for arenas and gymnasiums only (up to a maximum of 10 individuals in group at a time on a playing surface). Email for information or to book.  
  • Little Kids Active Learners Preschool Program continues and as aligned with Alberta Education.    
  • School group rentals for physical or education curriculum activities.    Email for more information or to book. 
  • Outdoor Play Hubs in the community with the Vivo Play Project.  Check out the upcoming April schedule here. 
  • Vivo Members can still access online, LIVE and on demand group fitness classes through your My Wellness App.   
  • Facility access is through the East Entrance for all Rental Groups and Panther Sport Medicine Clients and the West Entrance for school groups.   
  • Questions about programs, personal training, rentals or memberships can be emailed to 


Services that are ‘CANCELLED OR PAUSED’ immediately starting April 7, 2021:

  • All current Swim and Skate registered programs are cancelled. All participants will be notified directly and a pro-rated credit will be placed on your account to use a future date.  Email for questions. 
  • Summer Program Registration for April 8 is now ‘paused’. Stay tuned for more details in May.  Email for questions.
  • Pre-booking spots for unsupervised activities like fitness, badminton, basketball are cancelled and you will be notified directly.





  • Pre-book your spot for all drop-in activities through the “TechnoGym mywellness” app.
  • Experiences can be pre-booked up to 48 hours in advance OR up until the experience start time only if space is available.
  • The primary account holder will receive an email from Technogym with a link to activate their account.

Guest Services is still available to answer questions at

Panther Sports Medicine is open as an essential service. Clients can park and access the building through the East Entrance (via Arena Doors). Mondays-Fridays- 7am-7pm & Saturdays- 9am-1pm. for more information.

Calgary Public Library

The Calgary Public Library is temporarily closed.

Park at the West Entrance to access fitness and gymnasiums rentals, swimming lessons, preschool (LKAL), Schools, personal training, Northern Hills Community Association and the Calgary Public Library.

Park at the East Entrance to access arenas and gymnasiums for sport groups, skating lessons and Panther Sports Medicine Clinic.


Washrooms are temporarily unavailable for the general public to use at this time.

What health and safety measures does Vivo have in place?  

  • Online Pre-screen Health Assessment tool for people to complete prior to accessing the facility.
  • Mandatory masks worn at all times by participants.
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols for staff, spaces and experiences.
  • Additional hand sanitization stations in all areas of the facility.
  • Physical distancing measures including signage, floor decals and markings.
  • Directional and designated pathways to control the flow of people throughout the entire facility.
  • Reduced People Capacity at one time by using a Pre-Book Your Spot system.
  • Plexi-Glass barriers at Guest Services, Fitness and Climbing Desks.
  • Equipment Usage time limits.
  • Removal of difficult to clean and non-essential equipment.
  • Removal of lobby seating in all public areas.
  • Removal of fans.

Why is Vivo opening the building in stages and not all at one time?

We’re opening the facility in stages to be in accordance with local health orders. Check out what you can do on-line, in-person and at home on our What You can Do at Vivo page.

What are the protocols when I visit Vivo now?

We developed some new protocols around visiting Vivo to ensure you know what to expect and do before, during and after your visit. See above for instructions for access to Vivo.

How long can I put my current Vivo membership on hold?

We’re targeting re-activating all memberships when full operations resume. We offer our members a 3 month hold option between to provide flexibility with people’s lifestyles. For example, if you choose to put your membership on hold, it would be from March 1, 2021 –June 1, 2021. If you’re ready to come back sooner you can call, come in-person or email to get your membership re-activated. Visit our Membership page to fill out the form to put your membership on hold.

Why do I have to prebook my spot for Vivo experiences?

Your experience is our top priority. We’ve added a ‘Pre-book Your Spot’ system to adhere to local health orders for capacity and physical distancing standards as well as provide a positive and engaging experience for you. During July and August, you’ll Pre-Book Your Spot for all online, indoor and in-person fitness classes as well as access to our new ‘Fitness Centre boutique zones’. Note- If you do not show up for your spot you will be contacted and further booking privileges for repeat behaviours in not showing up may be revoked.
