What Vivo is doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19
You have likely heard through the news or social media about Coronavirus (COVID-19), which is raising health concerns across the globe. Health Canada, Alberta Health Services and other Canadian agencies have stated the risk to Canadians is still low for the COVID-19 outbreak. It is important to be prepared at the individual and community level for all possible scenarios. Vivo is monitoring this situation very closely.

We have increased cleaning and disinfecting common areas and surfaces more frequently. Additional disinfecting of touch points such as door handles, elevator buttons, seats and washrooms.

Front of House is disinfecting all pin pads, counters and cash areas with disinfecting wipes and cleaners. Hand sanitizer has been placed at all tills and areas used regularly by employees. All staff are being asked to help by disinfecting their work spaces and surrounding areas regularly.

Vivo has plans in place to take necessary steps both in prevention, preparedness, and response in the event of an outbreak.

Our registered programs and drop-in classes will remain open and continue as scheduled. Should any interruptions occur, we will notify you.

Digital screens and signage have been updated with messages for our guests on how to wash hands correctly and for how long.

Employee emails, member emails and emails to our general lists will go out to ensure everyone is aware of how to best mitigate risk while visiting as well as to keep everyone in the loop on how Vivo is maintaining best practices in response to health and safety needs.
What you can do to help:

Follow healthy habits:
- Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds Especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or elbow
- Respiratory viruses, such as the one that causes COVID-19, are spread through contact, change your regular greeting. Instead of a handshake, a kiss or a hug, give a friendly wave or elbow bump, is less likely to expose you to respiratory viruses.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces, such as toys and doorknobs.
