Message From Vivo’s CEO About COVID-19

Dear Vivo Customers,

We’re experiencing changes and learning new things everyday about the COVID-19 pandemic and thinking about the impact that has on you. Our first priority is always our customers, staff, volunteers, donors, partners and community.

Vivo is prepared as an organization. We’re actively monitoring, developing our response planning and working closely everyday with Alberta Health Services and Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) as we figure this out this together. Friday, March 13th at 4:00pm Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer recommended that recreation facilities include “…..enhanced cleaning, have hand sanitizer available, post signs to remind people how serious the recommendation is that if someone is ill with cough or fever or other respiratory symptoms they should not enter these public places, they should stay home…” Vivo is actively advancing these recommendations.

Over the coming days and weeks at Vivo, you can expect to start seeing some shifts to our programs and services and interactions with the public to ensure we’re minimizing the transmission of the virus. We’re also putting plans in place around our business operations and customer support in case we’re mandated to close the facility by Alberta Health Services.

As the pandemic situation continues to rapidly evolve, the health and safety of our community is of utmost importance. We are reserving the right to ask people to refrain from using Vivo if you are sick or have flu-like indications like cough, fever and/or respiratory symptoms. Please seriously consider following Alberta Health’s 14-day self-isolation recommendation if you have travelled recently out of the country.

Vivo is committed to supporting you and your family’s healthy lifestyle needs. We want you to be able to care for yourself and others in your life during this time.

We’ll continue to share updates with you should anything change so you know what’s happening, understand what Vivo’s approach will be and how it affects you.

Also, please check out our special COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions page we’ve put together to respond to some of the questions you’ve asked this past week. Thank you so much for your support.

Stay Healthy!
