Youth Ambassador Program
Gain Leadership, Financial Literacy & Job-Ready Skills
Launched in September 2023, Vivo’s Youth Ambassador Program was a free learning experience that helped young people build confidence, leadership skills, and real-world experience to better prepare for Calgary’s evolving workforce.
Through this program, youth developed key skills in co-creation, creativity, teamwork, relationship building, communication, problem solving, financial literacy, diversity and inclusion, and sustainability. Participants were supported by mentors at Vivo and through a growing network of community partners.
Over 6 to 12 months, ambassadors gained hands-on experience by co-designing, testing, and refining activation programs in Vivo’s Indoor Park—putting their learning into action while making a real impact in the community.
What Did We Do?
Vivo recruited up to 40 participants over the year, ages 15–29, from diverse genders, backgrounds, and abilities.
Thanks to our generous partners, RBC Foundation, Burns Memorial Fund, ATB Financial, BMO, and the Government of Alberta, for bringing this program to life.
Together, we measured the impact of the program and participants’ increases in confidence and competence, their ability to secure future employment at places like Vivo or in the community, as well as their influence in encouraging others to move and connect more in daily life.
