VIVO. For Healthier Generations. For You.

In 2004 we opened our doors as Cardel Place, serving north-central Calgary's growing population and its community, sport and recreation needs. Always challenging ourselves to be better and to do more, we continually ask people 'what's missing, what do you need to live your best life?'

Your response was clear: a balanced, multi-generational approach to complete health, combining the best of Western and Eastern practices for physical, social, spiritual, emotional and mental well-being.

Now we're bringing your vision to life.

We’ve been laying the groundwork by partnering with other leaders and experts across multiple disciplines: science, education, business, innovation and government. We made it our job to gather the facts, listen and learn and chart a course for radical shifts - shifts in attitudes and shifts in behaviours.

Armed with knowledge, supported by a network of like-minded organizations and confident in our ability to transform lives, we're taking action. Our evolution from a regional recreation facility to a national leader in Raising Healthier Generations is reflected in our clear vision, purposeful work and a new name.

Introducing Vivo.

Vivo means 'live' in Latin. Vivo embraces and celebrates diversity, community and the common thread that unites us all - life. Vivo is more than just a Calgary recreation facility. Vivo is a movement. We're a cause committed to inspiring Canadians of all generations to achieve their optimal health whether they're at home, school, work, play, in the community or here with us. Recreation is still a central pillar of our mission and now innovation and education are too.

With the support of new programs and exciting future spaces created with and for you, your success stories will be proof of our mission in action. They’ll serve as powerful motivation for others, in Calgary and beyond, to make their own changes for life.

Join us as we collaborate with Canada's brightest minds and lead the charge against physical inactivity and sedentary behaviour, a national challenge that impacts us all. Together we can shift and reshape our communities into vibrant places where Raising Healthier Generations is a natural way of living for all.

Together we are Vivo for Healthier Generations.
